AdBlue in your diesel tank in Suffolk? We fix it on the spot
AdBlue and diesel fillers often sit side by side, and the blue cap is easy to miss in a hurry. If you’ve put AdBlue in your fuel tank anywhere in Suffolk, keep the engine off and call: we cover Ipswich, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, day and night.

Why AdBlue in the fuel tank needs draining, not driving
AdBlue is water and urea, not fuel. It corrodes metal and crystallises in the pump, the injectors and the fuel lines as soon as it meets heat or air. A plain fuel drain isn’t enough: we drain the tank and run a dedicated chemical wash through the system to dissolve the urea before it sets.
Our van drains the tank, flushes the system and refills it with the right fuel, wherever the car is safely parked in Suffolk.

Leaving the engine off keeps the wrong fuel in the tank, where it can be drained cleanly. That’s the difference between a drain and a new fuel pump.
- Keep the ignition off. Even turning the key far enough to light the dashboard starts the electric fuel pump, which draws the wrong fuel into the lines and the engine.
- Keep the car where it is. Don’t drive it. If it’s blocking a pump, put it in neutral and push it by hand into a parking bay.
- Don’t top up with the right fuel. Adding fresh fuel won’t dilute the mix enough to protect a high-pressure pump.
- Call us straight away. Tell us where you are and what went in, and we’ll send the nearest van.
How to tell AdBlue has gone in the fuel tank
AdBlue usually comes from a can or a pump with a blue nozzle, and on many vans and cars its filler sits right beside the diesel one, sometimes under the same flap. If you notice before starting, that’s the best case. If the engine has run, look out for warning lights, rough running and loss of power. Don’t try to dilute it with more diesel: AdBlue doesn’t mix with fuel, it sinks and crystallises. Switch off, leave the key out and call.
